Welcome to the ICAVS-ICES Conference! The event will be held at the Science and Art Center on the Siming Campus of Xiamen University (XMU).

Xiamen is a beautiful coastal city with an efficient transportation network. Whether you are arriving by plane or train, this guide will help you reach the conference venue easily.

Important Note: Xiamen University has multiple campuses. Please ensure your destination is set to "Xiamen University Siming Campus" (厦门大学思明校区).

✈️ Arriving from Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport

The airport has two terminals. The journey to the campus is approximately 15-18 km.

Option 1: Taxi or Ride-hailing (Recommended)

This is the most convenient option.

• Pick-up: Designated taxi points are at the arrival hall. Ride-hailing pick-up points are located on the underground level.

• Time: 20–30 minutes (depending on traffic).

• Fare: Approximately CNY 40–50.

Option 2: Public Bus

• Route: Take the Airport Express Bus Line or Airport Express Eastbound Line, then transfer to a connecting city bus to "Xicun Station (Xiamen University)".

• Time: Approx. 1 hour 10 minutes.

• Fare: Around CNY 15. Tickets can be purchased at the counters in the arrival hall.

🚅 Arriving from Xiamen North Railway Station

The city's main high-speed rail hub.

Option 1: Metro + Bus (Most Efficient)

This is the recommended route to avoid long-distance traffic.

1. Take Metro Line 1 from Xiamen North Station to "Zhenhai Road Station" (approx. 45 mins).

2. Transfer to a bus (e.g., No. 20, 22, or 45) for a few stops.

3. Get off at "Xicun Station of Xiamen University".

• Total Time: 60–70 minutes.

• Total Fare: Around CNY 8 (Metro ~CNY 7 + Bus CNY 1).

Option 2: Taxi or Ride-hailing

• Pick-up: Designated points outside the station.

• Time: 40–50 minutes.

• Fare: Approximately CNY 60–80.

🚆 Arriving from Xiamen Railway Station

Located in the city center, closer to the campus.

Option 1: Public Bus (Highly Recommended)

• Route: Take Bus No. 96, 48, or 21. These are direct routes.

• Stop: Get off at "Xicun Station of Xiamen University".

• Time: Approx. 45 minutes.

• Fare: CNY 1.

Option 2: Taxi or Ride-hailing

• Time: ~15 minutes (fast and comfortable).

• Fare: Approximately CNY 15–20.

Option 3: Metro

• Take Metro Line 3, transfer to Line 1, and get off at "Zhongshan Park" station. You will then need to take a bus or taxi for the remaining 2 km to the campus.

📍 Entering the Campus

Vehicles and pedestrians typically enter the Siming Campus through:

• Da'nan Gate (大南校门)

• Qunxian Gate (群贤校门)

Conference Shuttle Service:
Shuttle services are available. Please look for volunteers wearing conference badges for assistance upon arrival.

📱 Navigation Apps
We strongly recommend installing Amap (Gaode Map) or Baidu Maps on your phone. These apps provide real-time traffic data, bus routes, and ride-hailing services.

💳 Payments

• Metro: Tickets can be bought at vending machines (Cash/Card).

• Bus: Fares are paid on board (Exact change or Mobile Payment).

• Mobile Pay: Apps like Alipay and WeChat are widely accepted for both metro and bus rides.

Xiamen University is located in a popular tourist area. Traffic near the campus can be congested during peak hours. We recommend allowing extra travel time.
